White House Plans 25% Tariff for India Product Imports Aug. 1
President Trump in a social media post today said his administration plans to impose a 25% tariff on products imported into the U.S. from India, starting Aug. 1.
“Remember, while India is our friend, we have, over the years, done relatively little business with them because their Tariffs are far too high, among the highest in the World, and they have the most strenuous and obnoxious non-monetary Trade Barriers of any Country,” President Trump said on Truth Social.
He also warned of a “penalty” against India for purchasing weapons and energy from Russia.
